about our team
Andrew Chary - Principal Architect
B.Arch. Tulane University 1986
M.Arch. Tulane University 2004
Andrew's diverse background was the seed for his architecture to break away from the mainstream “what do you need” proposition, to a “what do you want” proposition where anything is possible, with the philosophy where “there are no such thing as problems; only solutions.” Andrew has been realizing his vision of personalized, “can-do” architecture with his own design firm since 1990. Andrew views architecture as creating life heirlooms, sharing and patterning our treasures of home and place with our children and grandchildren, thereby enriching all our lives, creating a deeply poetic framework to show and share a world of calm and delight.
Michael Laramee - Project Manager
State University of NY at Delhi, North Country Community College
Michael has worked in the field of architecture since 1985. He had previously worked for the firm of Wareham – DeLair – Architects, one of the oldest firms in New York State, prior to its closing at the end of 2006. He has attended many seminars for continuing education in the field of architecture. Prior to starting his career in architecture he worked in the construction field on several local projects. This has given him a stronger understanding of how architectural drawings and construction create the Architect’s vision of a unique finished project. Michael also enjoys spending time with his family and enjoying the wonderful beauty of the Adirondacks.
Aria Jahanshahi - Consulting Project Manager
Bachelor of Architecture, University of Kentucky
After graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture, Aria moved to the Adirondacks to work for the Lake Placid office of Andrew Chary Architect, P.L.L.C. Aria took part in the renovation and alteration of several historical great camps before transferring to the firm's Westchester branch. In 2011, he relocated to Manhattan to work with Richard H. Lewis Architect, a firm which created the modern template for New York City restaurant design. Aria subsequently joined Brooklyn-based MESH Architectures, a hybrid architectural practice which pushes the boundaries of traditional architecture by fostering interactions with new technologies. While running his own Brooklyn-based practice since 2015, Aria continues to be a part of the Andrew Chary team.
